Small wood chipper

I was out yesterday trimming ornamental trees. The usual stuff, taking out suckers cutting rubbing branches removing storm damage.
I want a wood chipper but it seems to me a lot of times when shipping Up deadwood I end up making a bigger mess than it’s worth. Has anybody used any of the small chippers for that kind of work.
