pitch fork vs scoop shovel

I bought one of those pitch forks thinking it would be easier and faster taking mulch off the trailer and I suppose it's nice to be able to just poke it into the mulch wherever, but it seems like even though it takes a little more time to scoop up mulch with the scoop shovel I can get about three pitch fork scoops to fit into in the big scoop shovel.

It just seemed like too much effort scooping up with the pitchfork and turning around on the trailer since I have 4ft walls. Opinions?
