I live in mid West Michigan. I fertilize every year. Seed almost every year. I always put down Kentucky Blue, but a few years ago, my boyfriend snuck a bag of 'contractors grade' down. Now I can't get it to green up evenly. Every fall I put down a winterizing blend and it was deep evergreen well into December. Now I get decent color, but the greenest spots are where the dog poops.
