Weeding between rocks

Hey guys. I just got off a jobsite where i under-bidded it like a mother. I had to pull out TON of small weeds from in between ladnscape rock (lava) and it took me 5 times the amount of time i thought it would. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to pull out weeds between rocks that are sprouting from underneath paper? I handpicked these things for hours and it was a complete b*tch
