Synethetic lawn and dogs question

I have someone who is looking to have a synthetic lawn installed, which will also be for their dog to use. I wanted to get some input as to whether there would be any ammonia smell from dog use. (Seems to be a mixed response when searching on google)
Is this a problem that anyone has run into, if so what are the remedies, or is it a non-issue.
