Looking for some insight in regards to heavier pruning.
We have a few clients whom we missed the early spring dormant pruning of various larger deciduous shrubs.
What is your take on completing a fairly heavy prune (taking a 6ft. shrub back to 3ft.), early season just after budding?
From there if indeed the shrubs would survive the heavier pruning, what if there are no new buds below where our cuts would be? Are we asking to kill off these shrubs?
